Invisalign® Before & After
The Benefits of Invisalign
Adults and teenagers are increasingly choosing Invisalign over traditional braces for the following reasons:
- Comfort – Invisalign aligners are made with a smooth, thin plastic that is molded to the contours of your teeth.
- Convenience – Invisalign does not require any lifestyle changes. You can eat whatever you want, and because your aligners can be removed, you can brush and floss like you normally would.
- They’re Invisible! – One of the most common reasons that adults and teenagers prefer Invisalign aligners to braces is that they are nearly invisible. Unless you tell them, your coworkers, classmates, and friends will have no idea you're wearing aligners.
The Invisalign Process
The first step in your Invisalign treatment is a consultation. We will assess your teeth and jaw, as well as your dental history, to see if Invisalign is a good fit for you. If you choose to proceed with treatment, we'll take photographs and impressions of your teeth so that we can create a 3D model on our computer to use for treatment planning. This plan is sent to Invisalign, where your aligners are fabricated.
You'll wear each set of aligners for around two weeks, or as instructed, then switch to the next set right at home. We’ll ask that you come in for a follow-up every six weeks so we can ensure that your treatment is on track. After you finish with your last set of aligners, you will be given customized retainers to help you maintain your results.
Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign
Can your teeth move back after Invisalign?
If you don't wear your retainers, your teeth will shift back after Invisalign. As long as you wear your retainers as directed, this isn’t a concern.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Invisalign treatment typically lasts nine to 15 months, depending on the amount of correction required. Some patients will be able to finish treatment sooner, while others with more complex cases will need more time.
Does insurance cover Invisalign?
Invisalign is likely to be covered if your dental insurance includes orthodontic treatment, but each plan is different, so double-check with your insurer. Our team is happy to assist you in understanding your coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
